Oh hey.
A new chapter: filthy, fearless, feral.
My name’s Jaina Rodríguez-Grey, and I’m a journalist. I’ve written about gaming, coffee, and sex tech for WIRED, PC hardware for Digital Trends, and civil litigation for Thomson Reuters. I’m also a sex worker. And this is Strapped—a newsletter that’s part diary, part column, and all me.
It’s about sex, queerness, tech, culture, games, and all the places they overlap—and it’s filthy. You don’t want your boss reading this over your shoulder, Strapped is NSFW by design.
Why? Well, fascism and AI slop are choking the life out of the internet. And my industry. But one thing AI and fascists can’t handle is good old fashioned adults only, 18 plus, no minors, tits-out, wet-and-dripping, hard-and-throbbing smut.
That’s what I aim to provide. Not porn. Not even erotica. Authenticity and sensation. I want to pull you into the sheets with me. Right into the pounding, beating, slick, and bloody heart of how it feels to exist as a trans woman who loves, sells, and writes about sex for a living. Sometimes it’s exhilarating, and affirms all the things you like about yourself and your body. Other times it’s a long walk on a cold night that makes you wonder if your value is measured by how much you can please someone.
Point is: I’m not beating around anyone’s bush. The language here will get explicit and extremely personal, even if I’m just writing a feature about the history of sex in games. (Fair warning for anyone who knows me IRL, you might end up knowing me better than you want to if you keep reading.)
That said, all posts and newsletters will have content warnings up top, so you’re never gonna be blindsided.
Content plan is straightforward: One big story every Wednesday, a few smaller, shorter posts throughout the week. You’ll only get one email a week, including the big story and links to any shorter posts I’ve made that week. Easy peasy.
Still here? Good. See you next Wednesday.
